Merino Downs
Merino Downs is one of CRONZ’s first launched rug styles, developed and named after Helen’s (our co-founder) birth place in West Otago where her grand grandfather settled and farmed. This was developed as a pioneer style to replicate the verdant pastures of the Merino Downs farming district.
The deep thick shag pile finish is tufted using alternate rows of 2500 tex & 3600 tex New Zealand felted wool in a finished length of 35 mm and 55mm.
Where premium luxurious texture is desired, the use of merino wool in place of standard micron wool will deliver enduring beauty and comfort underfoot. The soft handle of the merino wool brings sheer quality in a stylish and relaxed way. Using tonal colours of the two yarns brings forth a connected, restful presence to any living, lounge, bedroom or snug rooms of the home working in harmony with any natural materials used in the space.
