Blackball
Blackball is our newest variation of the felted wool low loop structure, made from 3 colours of your choice. The two highlight colours are tufted vertically by a specialty designed programme that varies the loop heights. The main colour in is then tufted horizontally over the highlight colours obscuring some of the first colours to produce a fleck in the main colour. On completion, the rug is then tip shorn creating a multi – hued appearance. Tip shearing is a process where we use a shearing machine to lightly cut the finished stitches. As this is tufted in a loop pile, some of the loops are cut to create a partial or whole cut pile stitch resulting in some loop stitches and some cut pile stitches.
We have found choosing two tonal colours for the ‘highlight’ threads works well with a more contrasting main colour. The durability and strength of felted wool in the Blackball style makes this a hard-wearing rug or carpet, finished in the dense low profile.
The handsome stipple effect fabricated is uncomplicated, making it easy to place in any area of the home or commercial space.
