Staff Picks

The last year is well and truly behind us. At the beginning of a new year, we always love to reflect back on the past projects and customers. This time we asked our amazing staff what they thought the best CRONZ rugs of 2022 were and why.

HELEN

CRONZ’s sales director Helen loves texture. She says: “Ritz is one of my favourite textured rug styles. The sheen of the nylon adds highlights to the wonderful felted wool. I am very keen to have this in our home as we have wooden floors and the Ritz would add cosiness to our room.” Her favourite colour combo in the Ritz style is Pure Tussock + Nugget which was very popular with our customers last year.

JOHN

John, managing director of CRONZ, is a passionate engineer and loves rugs that manifest the unique capabilities of our rug tufting machines. His favourite rug of 2022 is the Pudding Hill.
”I love the variation in texture, the three different heights in the rug and especially the fact it is technically interesting and unusual,” he says.

JOHAN

Johan who is a rug tufting technician also likes seeing technical means transpired into products. That is why he favours the Sunburst style. “I like the Sunburst rug for its 3D texture as I think that gives it a unique character compared to a standard, flat finish.” From all the different coloured Sunbursts we made last year, the P9 colour below was his pick.

ZUZANA

Our designer Zuzana loves bright colours and patterns, however prefers simplicity when it comes to choosing an area rug. Her favourite rug of 2022 is the clever Moroccan with lines.
“It is a very simple but striking rug that pairs up well with just about anything, and feels really luxurious due to its shaggy wool finish, and beautiful lustre of the nylon yarn. The slight gap between the lines is my favourite design feature in the rug.”

PIP

Rug finishing extraordinaire, Pip, is all about colour. The Clay design is her rug pick from last year. She said it made her feel happy and it also felt amazing underfoot.
“I really love the colour of the rug, but also the movement changes and shading that result from the combination of the two different yarns, NZ wool and nylon.”
